Acoustic Stretch Ceilings: Better Sound in Offices, Restaurants and Homes
30 May 2026 · 5 min read

Glass, concrete and tile make spaces feel sharp and modern — but they also bounce sound around, which is why some offices and restaurants feel loud and tiring. An acoustic stretch ceiling helps absorb that noise while keeping a smooth, seamless appearance.
How it works
An acoustic membrane is micro-perforated, with an absorptive layer behind it. Sound passes through the tiny perforations and is absorbed rather than reflected back into the room, reducing echo and overall noise levels. From normal viewing distance the surface still looks like a clean, continuous ceiling.
Where it helps most
- Open-plan offices and meeting rooms, for clearer speech and fewer distractions.
- Restaurants and cafes, where echo makes conversation difficult.
- Gyms, studios and reception areas with hard surfaces.
- Homes — media rooms, open-plan living and double-height spaces.
Looks clean, performs quietly
Because it is still a stretch ceiling, an acoustic membrane can be combined with integrated lighting and a choice of finishes — so you improve the sound without compromising the design. Tell us about your space and we will recommend the right approach.
